Debrina received her BA from Skidmore College with a dual major in Business and French and her JD from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2006. Before admission to the bar, she provided legal services to the modest-income community in Pittsburgh. Her proudest accomplishment to date is the birth of her son; Debrina is a single mom to a beautiful, energetic toddler. In addition to her law practice, Debrina is a Contributing Writer for About.com’s Single Parent Network, where she writes about legal issues that affect single parents including child custody, child support and visitation.
She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the Metropolitan Black Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyer and Family Law Divisions.
Debrina’s philosophy is simple. Legal Services should be affordable to all. The New York community is lacking affordable legal services. In particular, single parents often lack the time, energy and money to tend to their legal affairs or most other matters, aside from caring for their children’s daily needs. For that reason, Debrina decided to start a virtual law practice, DL Washington Law, where clients can work with her in the comfort of their own homes at any hour of the day, without the concern of expensive legal services.
